Council correspondence

Below is a series of e-mails between City Council members regarding a request by Councilman Mark Wojcik, R-District 2, for the council to honor two city firefighters for recent acts of bravery. The firemen’s names have been omitted pending the council’s decision on whether to honor them at tomorrow night’s meeting.

--

McGrath to the City Clerk:
“Attached are the two firemen we will honor at Thursday's meeting. Please draw up two commendations and also let me know if you want me to do it or if you want your own people to honor them. Thanks

(name omitted)
(name omitted)”

Councilman Gary Galuski, D-District 6:
“Councilmen McGrath, as I mentioned to you at the finance meeting, I would speak with Council president Campana than make the decision. As chairman of the human resources committee I decide who we will honor during the good news portion of the monthly council meeting. I look forward to reviewing your request and than make my decision.

Thank you, GG”

McGrath:
Gary, sorry about the late response but my job prohibits me from playing with email. I simply felt that honoring two men who risked their lives to save another was "Good News". They are aware they will possibly be honored, but with the failure to have a good news segment over the last four months I felt someone should get the ball rolling. Please let Chief Garret know if they will or will not be honored for I wouldn't want these two fine men to be embarrassed Thanks.”

Galuski:
“You forgot to include the Times Union. I know your real motive in this. Again, as I stated in my response I will review your request.”

Councilman Bill Dunne, D-District 4:
“Gary, Mark was too busy sending his press release claiming Jim Conroy is advising/influencing us regarding city hall.”

McGrath:
“Thanks for your input Bill. I must caution you however. The conspiracy theory over the "Feigned outrage" certainly has me worried about you. I hope you're well. Thanks.”

Councilman Mark Wojcik, R-District 1:
Fellas,
Let's just honor the two firemen on Thursday night. Gary, if Mark approached you last Thursday about this, I think there was adequate time to make the appropriate actions to include these firemen in our "Good News" agenda.

As far as all the other "white noise"-----303 days and counting.

mw”

Only Mr Galuski can say who gets honored in Troy ? Arrogance and ignorance are two terrible traits, Mr Galuski seems to have them both.

Anyone should be able to honor a city employee for bravery or hard work without red-tape.

Last year I tried contacting councilmen 6 on two occasions left my full name, address, and telephone number to address a neighborhood issue he never contacted me. I ended up contacting the mayor's office to get my issue addressed.

He came to my door asking for my vote. Maybe if my council person focused on the people he represented issues like this would not exsist.

Our poor mayor has to deal with these people? He is trying so hard to help this city and this is the kind of childish communications they have with each other. Shame on them. They don't have any class and aren't worthy to be in the same room with our good mayor.

Our Mayor is an idiot and his administration is incompetent! Maybe the Mayor and Deputy Dog Crawley should open that BBQ joint because they don't have a future here in this City.

2 yrs and 303 days MW. We are counting the days!

My God, both Mcgrath and Galuski should consider not running again for the good of the city. They're so both full of themselves and do nothing but harm the taxpayers.

This City is a joke and our two fearless leaders combined don't have a four year college degree. Maybe Tut and Crawley should go to night school and get their GEDs.

I would like to here more about all this police overtime that some police and other administrators feel they can abuse the system to pad their own pensions and use for personal gain. This is taxpayer money and they should know everything about it.This city needs new leaders at all levels.

lets see the pattison-conroy administration both men had masters degrees. $27,000 hud grant to conroy, $400,000 missing from the treasurers office, 27% mid year tax hike and jim conroy is complainig taxes are too high.

harry has built a 10 million surplus, brought major development to the city, and held the line on taxes two years.

som much for the educated dems.

First of all, C-Galuski should use his spellcheck. Secondly, who in the hell does he think he is trying to call the shots on ANYTHING?????
We're talking about 2 firemen, who put their life on the line everyday protecting putz's like Gary. He should understand that more than anyone being he has a brother who serves with the TFD.
He sounds like a the moron he is.

Why bust oon Galuski for his fine work in South Troy. He has done more in the last 2 years than the council woman he replaced did in 4 years. Give the man a break, he does not like to answer his phone or return calls.

Total BS. He's another one being led by the nose with the promise of fresh pasta from LoPorto, who has a summer home in Brunswick by the way!

The honoring of the fireman was beautiful and just unfortunately the person died the next day. Rather than bash Gary for some misunderstanding why not approach the real fact here. A innocent man died, our fireman had to risk their lives for a fire in a house our very own Mayor and his brother own as slumlords. The fire was due to faulty heating as was another fire in Troy (same thing) only the girl with five kids survived. Someone should send code to our Mayors properties he and his brother are criminals. Both fires heating problems. But the rent check was made our to Harry not his brother...and thats not all Harry is involved with you should check into his connection with the Verizon building, I wondered why he was so hell bent on that building when there are so many other building that would be so much better and in a better less congested area. Somethings rotten in Denmark all is not as it seems people open your eyes!
